About

The IEEE Systems Council Thompson Okanagan Section Chapter is a local unit of the IEEE Systems Council, established to promote the understanding and advancement of systems engineering across British Columbia’s Thompson Okanagan region.

The Systems Council brings together IEEE’s expertise across multiple disciplines and specialty areas, including but not limited to:

  • Systems engineering education, standards, and methodologies
  • Modelling, simulation, integration, and system resilience
  • Robust design, safety, human factors, usability, and environmental considerations
  • Security and assurance (Quality, Mission, Risk)
  • Requirements development and management
  • Systems architecture and systems-of-systems
  • Product lifecycle transitions: design, production, testing, deployment, and disposal
  • Program and project management

The symposium features peer-style research presentations, technical sessions, and networking opportunities focused on intelligent systems, embedded systems, data-driven technologies, and high-performance computing. TOK-SCCS provides an accessible and supportive platform for emerging researchers and students to present their work in a professional setting.

By fostering collaboration between academia and industry, TOK-SCCS 2026 aims to strengthen the local engineering and computer science community and inspire innovation within the Thompson Okanagan region.

Located in Kelowna, British Columbia, Okanagan College provides a modern and accessible setting for technical exchange and collaboration. The venue offers an engaging in-person experience with research presentations, exhibits, and networking opportunities.

  • Full Paper Submission Deadline: May 31, 2026
  • Notification of Acceptance: June 30, 2026
  • Final (Camera-Ready) Submission: July 27, 2026
  • Symposium Date: August 28, 2026

All submissions will undergo a double-anonymous peer review process to ensure quality and fairness.
