TOK Section Election Information

As a past Winnipeg section chair, we used the vTools nominations entirely for the section election last year, and it worked successfully.

I can copy the notes from the last year regarding how to use the vTools platform for section elections: “If you have not done so already, please appoint an elections committee that is aligned with the MGA Operations Manual (Section 9.13, page 129). All sections must now use the vTools Nominations platform to manage elections. You might consider a timeline similar to the Vancouver Section’s 2024 elections, or shorter timelines can also be used based on the suggestions of the vTools Nominations tool.”

Our experience indicates that each step of the election process in vTools requires a buffer. Please keep this in mind when planning and allow sufficient time for the election to proceed smoothly. At the AGM, you may wish to announce the election timeline and committee, and confirm that the vTools setup is in place.

Thank you very much for the invitation to the AGM. Unfortunately, I couldn’t attend, as I have several meetings scheduled that day. I am confident your AGM will be a great success, given the excellent work your section has been doing.

Best regards,

Peng Hu, West Area Chair, IEEE Canada (2026 – Present)
